12 Days of Christmas: Day 5

It's Day 5 of the 12 Days of Christmas Countdown! Now for the first four days of the countdown, in order to make the gifts applicable to our modern world I had to tweak the lyrics just a tad. However, for the 5th day I don't need to change the words one bit! Who still doesn't want a gorgeous gold ring?

While researching for this post I found out an interesting fact. According to religious scholars, the five rings signify the first five books of the Old Testament or Torah.

 It seems that the world has a serious case of the midas touch. Many designers featured gold heavily in their designs and styling in their collections for the F/W 2013 and S/S 2014 fashion weeks. 

Will this gold fixation take our mind off the other g word...government? Who can say. But we can be certain of one thing. In God and gold we trust.
